In 1977 Renault made an entry to the F1 circus, bringing innovation with the first turbo engined F1. Beginnings were painful and the teams would call that car the Yellow Teapot because of the smoke coming up from the engine. Few years later, the Yellow Teapot won races, and F1 adopted turbo engines. Renault saw things differently and made the sport evolve. That’s also our philosophy.

The race fro innovation is necessary to keep the head high, but only if it is viable for the company. But we don’t believe in theatrical innovation, or innovation washing. Same for 6-month projects that don’t meet their market, that waste your team’s time and motivation.
